Ocean Import Shipment Coordinator

Responsibilities
- Handling Ocean Import freight files and coordinating shipment delivery arrangements.
- Verifying OBL (Original Bill of Lading) and payment requirements prior to shipment release.
- Monitoring and responding to all incoming communications from clients and business partners (domestic and overseas) to manage daily operational issues.
- Verifying bookings and obtaining appropriate approvals before relaying information overseas.
- Coordinating cargo bookings with transport companies.
- Managing and billing storage/demurrage charges for approved accounts.
- Ensuring timely approval of supplier invoices and verifying overseas agent remittance.
- Resolving customer complaints efficiently and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
- Addressing internal and operational problems promptly to prevent service deficiencies or customer dissatisfaction.
- Continuously improving internal systems and procedures to enhance customer service and departmental efficiency.
- Performing additional tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar role, preferably with an International Freight Forwarding organization.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer service focus.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to set priorities and manage workloads efficiently.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
