Update on the CN Rail Network
Over the weekend, progress was made between the hereditary Chiefs and the Canadian government. The framework for an agreement is in place and protests are expected to end.
Trains are starting to move across the country as normal. The Port of Prince Rupert loaded trains destined for Montreal and trains parked in Northern Ontario have started to arrive at their destinations.
As CN’s network becomes fluid, we anticipate some challenges at rail yards in Montreal and Toronto.
CN laid off 450 workers during the protests and they are in process of bringing most of them back. There will be delays to ground containers until CN is back to full productivity.
OEC is following up with CN so we may provide you with the latest news on your flagged containers.
