India & Banlgadesh Announce A Country Wide Lockdown

Both India and Bangladesh have announce country wide lockdowns in an attempt to contain the COVID-19 global pandemic.

The regulations spare very little in terms of business closures which affect not only manufacturing but the transportation industry including cargo warehouses, airport, sea ports and will be enforced throughout f the country up to 21 days. Citizens will be restricted from venturing out of their homes. It has not been made totally clear how people will be permitted to go out to purchase food or other essentials. This announcement has led to panic buying leaving store shelves empty as was seen in other countries that implement restrictions due to COVID-19. The countries have come to an almost standstill and any person testing the rules can face up to two years imprisonment in India .

Bangladesh has imposed similar mass market restrictions and closures up to April 4th on all Customs, airlines, shipping lines, ports, airports, ICDs, manufacturers and business offices. Banks will have restricted hours. These measures will be reviewed and updated as the governments reassess the efforts of virus containment.
